On October 24-25 2023, Al Ustadz Ahmad Zulfiqar A.A.A., S.Fil.I., MIRKH had the opportunity to be a panelist and speaker at the event ICCHIH 2023 (International Conference on the Contributions of HAMKA on Islam and Humanity) held at the International Islamic University Malaysia, IIUM Gombak Campus, Malaysia.

This international seminar discusses various topics broadly, including the thoughts and roles of our famous cleric, Indonesia’s national hero, namely Prof. Dr. Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah or commonly known as Buya Hamka.

In the transit friendly session at the Banquet Lounge, before the event started, Ust. Zulfiqar had the opportunity to stay in touch & introduce Al Azhar IIBS to the Chancellor of IIUM Malaysia, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli bin Abdul Razak along with other VIP invited guests. Next, on the main stage came the session where Al Ustadz Ahmad Zulfiqar A.A.A., S.Fil.I., MIRKH presentedresearch paper which is titled “The Role of HAMKA’s Thought in the Development of Islamic Education in Indonesia” which contains the role of thoughts initiated by Buya Hamka in the development of the world of Islamic education, especially in Indonesia.

This ICCHIH seminar also opened and inaugurated the HAMKA Chair and HAMKA Corner on the IIUM Malaysia campus. In this case, thank God Hamka Chair named Al Azhar IIBS as one ofmain collaborator  as well as givingsupport for Al Azhar IIBS students to research more about Hamka. Likewise with the IIUM Malaysia library,Dar el Hikmah Library willing to provide space to Al Azhar IIBS for collaboration and synergy to improve literacy culture.

At the end of the event, IIUM confirmed Al Azhar IIBS as Main Collaborator Hamka Chair. In the field of collaboration, IIUM is willing to send lecturers and students to Al Azhar IIBS to participate in international collaboration programs between the two.
