Alhamdulillah, on Saturday, June 15, 2024 (8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1445 H), the first graduation ceremony of Al Azhar Islamic High School 28 IIBS & Al Azhar Islamic Junior High School 51 IIBS took place at the Grand Mercure Hotel Solo Baru Ballroom.

The first graduation ceremony was lively and meaningful, attended by 72 graduates from grades IX and XII, foundation board members, directors, teachers, staff, and parents. Representatives from the Karanganyar District Education Office were also present.

A series of events were presented in an epic and spectacular manner, including the presence of Baraa Masoud, an International Qori’ and Quran memorizer, to motivate Al Azhar IIBS graduates to preach anywhere, at any event, in any place, and in any profession, while adhering to three things: The Best Quran, The Best Manners, and being able to compete and make a mark on the International stage.

This graduation ceremony was unique and different from other graduations at Solo Baru. The series of events were arranged as a storyline of a drama depicting the experience of studying at Al Azhar IIBS. It started with an opening visualization video reminiscent of a spectacular event that combined audio visuals and lighting, followed by an introduction by the MCs. This time, the MCs were enlivened by the directors who were very familiar to the students: Ustadz Khilmi, Ustadz Gun, and Ustadz Zul. This was followed by a choir performance of Sholawat Asyghil by the students, which accompanied the graduates entering the room, a mini theater collaboration between teachers and students, Qur’an recitation, marching performances, singing the Indonesian National Anthem and the Al Azhar March, ASBD performances, Nasheed performances, speeches from the CEO of Al Azhar IIBS, Mrs. Kartika Dewi Anggraini, M.Psi, Psikolog, a speech from a parents’ representative, Mr. Ahmad Sugito, M.Pd, a speech from the Chairman I of the Makarima Foundation, Dr. Harun Rosjid, Sp. B., MARS, a speech from a representative of the Education Office, followed by a Nasheed performance by Baraa Masoud, a graduation and rewarding procession, a sermon by KH. Syihabbudin AM, All Hafizh, and ended with a touching procession of the graduates bowing to their parents.

Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, most Al Azhar IIBS students have completed the memorization of the 30 Juz of the Qur’an and have been accepted into various prestigious universities both domestically and internationally, including:

This success reflects the motto of Al Azhar IIBS, which is to produce a 5.0 Muslim generation wrapped in the Quran and manners, with global competitiveness. The learning pattern applied refers to Quranic Learning, Courtesy-Oriented, and World-Class Education.

Mrs. Kartika Dewi Anggraini, M.Psi, Psikolog, as the CEO of Al Azhar IIBS Karanganyar said, “In this first batch, about 30% of the Junior High School graduates have completed the 30 Juz memorization of Qur’an. Meanwhile, about 55% of the High School graduates have completed it. This is an extraordinary achievement and proves that the Quranic Learning concept works optimally.”

Chairman I of the Makarima Foundation, Dr. Harun Rosjid, Sp. B., MARS, said, “The strength of Al Azhar IIBS lies in the blend of the Quran and manners, implemented in the teaching and learning activities in the modern boarding school. The presence of Al Azhar IIBS integrates the Quran, manners, science, and technology. Hence, it is expected to produce Muslim Scholars with comprehensive personalities, leadership spirits, and global competitiveness. “The strength of Al Azhar IIBS is due to the Quranic blend with the hands of Allah SWT. I am touched and grateful. I remember the soft opening during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said. He hopes that this graduation marks the beginning of the journey for the first batch of Al Azhar IIBS Junior and Senior High School graduates to continue their studies and contribute to the community and society, welcoming the golden Indonesia 2045.
