In this special Ramadan moment, Al Ustadz Ahmad Zulfiqar A.A.A., S.Fil.I., MIRKH., the Director of International Affairs at Al Azhar International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), has been honored as Indonesia’s representative in the Da’i Ambassador program to France. This program, initiated by Dompet Dhuafa, is part of a global da’wah effort driven by a strong commitment to empowering the Muslim community.
The Da’i Ambassador program is an annual initiative organized by Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa), the international da’wah wing of Dompet Dhuafa, focusing on cross-country da’wah to uplift the ummah. The program aims to unite the vision of da’is to spread empowering da’wah across various aspects, including education, health, culture, and socio-humanitarian issues.
The program commenced with its official opening on February 23, 2025, followed by a series of training sessions until February 26, 2025. These sessions, held in Jakarta, featured experienced speakers discussing topics such as Personal Branding, Da’wah Strategies, Islamic Insights, and the profile of Dompet Dhuafa.
Bridging the Spiritual Gap of the French Diaspora
Upon arriving in Paris, Ustadz Zulfiqar received a warm welcome from the Indonesian Embassy in Paris (KBRI Paris), which provided a brief overview of the conditions faced by Indonesian Muslims and the diaspora there. The Ramadan Program Coordinator and PERMIIP representative expressed the enthusiasm of the Indonesian community and diaspora in welcoming Ustadz Zulfiqar and eagerly awaiting the scheduled studies and activities during Ramadan 1446 H.
Every day, diaspora members and Indonesian citizens enthusiastically participate in various activities and studies organized by Dompet Dhuafa. In addition to delivering da’wah on Ziswaf (Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf), Ustadz Zulfiqar also shares practical knowledge on topics like fiqh of fasting, hadith studies, and other Islamic jurisprudence matters.
For Indonesian Muslims in Paris, Ramadan is a highly anticipated time of the year. It is an opportunity to deepen religious understanding and strengthen bonds through studies and iftar gatherings organized by KBRI Paris.
The selection of Ustadz Ahmad Zulfiqar as a Da’i Ambassador to France is a significant achievement for Al Azhar IIBS. It not only reinforces the school’s commitment to supporting global da’wah and community empowerment but also inspires its students to continuously develop their understanding of Islam and contribute globally as internationally-minded Muslim leaders.
